This new comedy from NBC has been entertaining audiences with the misadventures of Earl Hickey as he desperately tries to fix everything wrong that he's ever done. By crossing these items off of his list, he hopes to achieve perfect karma and actually desire the benefit of the lottery ticket that he found.
Earl Hickey is the main character of the show. He has a long list of roughly 225 items that need to be crossed off if he wants to actually desire the few good things that happen to him. Earl found a winning lottery ticket at the beginning of the show and he only managed to get it back after he made the promise to fix his karma. Randy Hickey has been helping him in his attempts by providing encouragement and a helping hand when needed. Randy and Earl have always been very close brothers. Joy is Earl's ex-wife. She was pregnant when he met her, and their other child is obviously not his. Joy was once a partner in many of Earl's misdeeds, but she was also the target of several. Darnell is both Earl's friend and Joy's wife. "Crab Man" works at the Crab Shack, their local hangout. Catalina is the attractive Latino maid at the hotel where Randy and Earl are staying. She often presents humorous and strange anecdotes about her old life in Mexico. Randy has a huge crush on Catalina and he can barely think straight when he is around her.
My Name Is Earl has been a continued achievement for NBC's comedy lineup. The first season drew in amazing ratings and the second season continues to please fans. Only good things can come from this show in the future.
